It is beautifully situated, with the broad tidal lagoon of the Camel Estuary and yet sheltered from the Atlantic swell by the sand bar. With its fine long stretch of golden sandy beach, Damer Bay is surrounded by breathtaking scenery, which meanders along the coastline and out towards the Atlantic Ocean.
The area was much loved by Sir John Betjeman, who is buried at the historic St Enodoc Church which nestles amongst the sand dunes.
